What is Mums on Top all about?

 

Thanks for your interest in writing for Mums on Top! Our mission is to redefine the face of modern mothers through the first online magazine to embrace all aspects of NZ mums, enabling them to feel great just for being who they are.

The modern NZ mother may have 1 child or 7 children. She may work full-time or part-time – or not at all. She may be married or live in a de facto relationship or she may be single. She may dress in business suits or she may have lowered her car and embraced tattoos.

Through savvy and topical content our mums will be treated as women first and foremost, one who is not pressured to conform to an historical ideal but one who creates her own reality based on her own values. She will be able to embrace her mothering role, her intellect, her inner and outer beauty, the delicate balance of work and life and to acknowledge and embrace her own needs.

Mums as Experts

 

You know how it is…there’s so much ‘expert’ advice available both on and offline and here at Mums on Top we are committed to the fact that those people who are doing the hard yards are the experts when it comes to parenting and lifestyle issues.

All people are welcome at here – Dads, grandparents, step parents and anyway you want to look at being involved with children – related or not!

Writing an Article

 

Our members come to Mums on Top for one of three reasons:

- Information

- Inspiration

- Community

An online article is something you have written (ie. It’s an original!) and between 150 and 2,000 words, although most will be between 300-400 words.

The best articles include a personal perspective, including words like “I feel” or “In my experience” rather than telling other people how to do things…that just annoys them!

A press release, sales copy, blatant self-promotion for you or your business will not get you published on Mums on Top.
