Māori Language Week has been a feature of the New Zealand calendar since 1975, and here at Mums on Top we are working very hard to make sure that this week our appreciation of the language is at the top of our list of things to do.
This year the theme for Māori Language Week is ‘Ngā ingoa Māori, Māori names’, which got us thinking about names for kids. There are so many beautiful Maori names for children, and so many lovely reasons to choose one. We love the fact that the Māori version of an English name could have special meaning for you.
